The WWNA "Good
Neighbor" Scholarship
The Wallace Woods Neighborhood Association has funded, for the
past five years, a $500.00 Scholarship. This scholarship
is available to a citizen of Covington who is graduating from
high school in the spring of the year. It is based on community
service, and is applicable toward any accredited post-secondary
technical training or college program.
WWNA has also made monetary
contributions to the Covington Firefighters Safety House project,
the Covington Community Center Lunch with Santa, and the Maryland
Millennium Playground project.

Applications are now
available for the 2008 Wallace Woods Good Neighbor Scholarship.
Since 1999, the neighbors of
Wallace Woods, in
Covington, KY, have underwritten an annual $500 scholarship
to be used for the education of a young Covington resident. The
Wallace Woods Neighborhood Association Good Neighbor Scholarship
is an award based on volunteer community service.
2008 Application forms will
be available soon on City of Covington’s website <www.covingtonky.com>
and the Wallace Woods Neighborhood Association website <www.wallacewoods.org>
Printed application forms will be available at the Mary Ann Mongan
library in
Covington.
To be eligible for the Good
Neighbor Scholarship:
1. The student must be a resident of
Covington, KY.
2. The student may be no older than
24 years of age as of March 31, 2008.
3. The student must have performed
voluntary community service.
4. The student must
be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited two- to
four-year post-secondary educational institution for the 2008 –
2009 school year. Vocational and Technical programs are included.
One winner will be
selected from qualified applicants, and the scholarship money will
be sent to the accredited educational institution of the winner's
choice. If the scholarship award is not used by March 31, 2009, it
will be forfeited.
Completed applications and
recommendation forms must be received by WWNA by Monday, March 31,
2008. Applications from students who do not meet eligibility
criteria will be disqualified.
Scholarship winner
will be notified by April 30, 2008.
